Empress’s sire is the prolific show jumping stallion Chin Chin. On September 12, 2007 the extraordinary Chin Chin passed away, he was 29 years old.

Chin Chin competed successfully for more than five years at international competitions including; 5 years at World Cup competitions, two Olympic Games both Seoul and Barcelona and two times at the World Equestrian Games.

Purchased by VDL Stud at the grand age of 24, Chin Chin was imported from Mexico to Holland where he stood at the prestigious VDL Stud until his death.

During his five years in Holland Chin Chin was very popular and had a long lasting influential impact on KWPN breeding. His sons: Zeolte VDL Zapatero and Arezzo Keur were approved by the KWPN studbook.

Every year at the mare shows his daughters have been very successful. In 2006, his daughter Welena VDL became Dutch Free Jumping Champion and Well Born Rilexy placed second in the same Championship. Daughter Zendence VDL became Champion of the 3-year old mares in hand and the full blood sibling to our mare Echinidee, Chinchidee [Chin Chin x Contender], was the 2007 Dutch Foal Champion and at the age of three Dutch National Champion Mare.
