Pepita S is a Keur KWPN mare purchased from VDL Stud in Holland and imported to our farm in 2001 at the time she was in foal to Hold up Premier. Pepita’s breeder in Holland, family Van Straaten, is represented by no less than seven mares in the KWPN index of the top 250 best mares. On the KWPN index of the 50 most sport-bred colts born in 1997, three stallions are bred by the Van Straaten family. In addition, Family Van Straaten holds a splendid 28th place on the WBFSH world ranking for sport horse breeders.
As a three year old, Pepita completed the IBOP test in Holland, she scored an amazing: 8 for walk, 8 for trot and 8 for canter, this was the top score at the large Keuring she attended awarding her the predicate Keur.
Pepita’s famous mare line is loaded with international level jumpers, her grand-dam and great grand-dam both jumped at the highest levels of the sport. Pepita’s dam the Ster KWPN mare Haroom T is also the mother of the jumping star Kimcorda and the full blood sibling to Pepita, the KWPN approved Stallion VDL Sarantos

Sarantos is one of the most successful and promising show jumpers in Holland. He is the winner of the Stallion competition of Zuidbroek, Promising Young Stallion in Zwolle and was 3rd in the Stallion competition of Hengelo. Sarantos received the following scores during his KWPN stallion testing: 8 for canter, 8 for jumping take-off and technique, 9 for scope and 8.5 for his talent for jumping. Pepita is the only sibling from this highly successful mare line to be imported to North America. In February 2006, at the KWPN Stallion competition Sarantos was the overall Z level champion and the winner of the KWPN stallion competition. |
Sensational KWPN-NA Keuring Results
Since 2004, Pepita’s magical offspring have been honoured with top rankings on the very prestigious KWPN-NA TOP-FIVE list!
During the KWPN-NA Keuring tour in 2004, Pepita’s eldest offspring, Union S, was ranked
#7 in the
TOP-TEN list for his jumping ability.
In 2006, Pepita’s Indoctro yearling mare, Anime P, was awarded
First Premium and
High Score Young Horse at the Pineland Keuring in Maine to finish
#1 Jumper Yearling in the Nation on the KWPN-NA
TOP-TEN list! The juries complementary comments were; “Best of the young horses, Anime P, is very well developed, quite big for a yearling but with a perfect shape, harmonious built, beautiful long sloping shoulder, supple in her movement and good long legs.''
2007 proved to be another tremendous year for Pepita when no less than three of her outstanding Indoctro offspring finished on the prestigious
KWPN-NA TOP-FIVE list after the results from the KWPN-NA Keuring Tour were calculated. Anime P was awarded
