A Top Breeding Stallion With An Impressive Track Record
Already a successful competition horse at 1.50 m level, Balou du Rouet is now busy building a reputation as an outstanding breeding stallion.

Although his oldest offspring were only six in 2009, they have already chalked up more than EUR 56,000 in competition winnings. Matched only by Cornet Obolenski, Balou du Rouet was the stallion with the most offspring competing at the Bundeschampionat in 2008 and, in 2009, three of the Bundeschampionat for Six Year-Old Show Jumping Horses competitors were Balou du Rouet progeny. Another of his offspring, Bacara, qualified for the World Championship in Lanaken and was subsequently sold at auction for EUR 140,000. Two of Balou du Rouet's sons were approved at the Southern German licensing, another top stallion sold at auction in Hanover for EUR 85,000 and another approved son and he now counts over 30 approved stallions among his offspring. Balous Bellini was champion stallion at the Munich 30-day test in 2009 with a score of 9.27 and a final jumping score of 9.54, and Bobby Brown was runner-up at his performance test in Adelsheidsdorf with an index of 143.23 points.

There is no ignoring the popularity of Balou du Rouet's progeny, he produces spectacular offspring! Baranus sold at auction for EUR 120,000 after winning a class at the World Championship in Zangersheide and, in 2007, Be Bravo sold for the record price of EUR 350,000 at the AOS Auction.

Balou du Rouet’s FN breeding index score of 141 puts him among the leading breeding stallions, despite his young age.

Lineage & Progeny:

Modern up and coming producer heading for the top a picture perfect career after winning one young horse class after another and gaining marks up to 10.0 in his 30-day test, Balou du Rouet successfully “landed” at the 1.50m level. Already in 2005 he caught everyone’s attention by scoring the highest mark of 9.2 at the national championships, making him one of Germany’s top 4 licensed stallions. His enormous jumping talent, combined with great elastic gaits and a fascinating charisma make Balou du Rouet an exciting choice for the breeders of sports horses.

Once again, Balou du Rouet emphasises his dominant quality as a producer in type, elegance and movement, with numerous foals at many different auctions. He continuously produces finalists for the German foal championships. Offspring of Balou du Rouet have been approved at almost every stallion licensing most notably the licensed “BE BRAVO”, who sold for € 350.000 as the most expensive horse of the 2007 AOS auction. His number of approved sons has amounted to over ten stallions.

He has continued his sporting career in supreme style, winning several classes judged on style and ability up to "M level". Balou du Rouet won the final qualification at the German Young Horse Championships with the top score of 9.2 and in the final was one of the 4 best approved stallions in Germany.

Balou du Rouet's sire is three-times World Cup winner and individual Olympic gold medal winner in 2004, Baloubet du Rouet. This Selle Francais stallion is one of the most successful show jumping stallions of all time and he consistently passes on his performance genes to his offspring. Baloubet du Rouet's sire, Galoubet, is by the great stallion Almé and was competing at international level at the age of seven and won team gold at the World Championship in 1982.

On his dam's side, Balou du Rouet is directly related to the founder of the bloodline "Cor de la Bryere" from Holstein through Rantzau xx. The similarity can be seen in Balou du Rouet's jumping style and ability. His stunning dam Georgia is by the increasingly popular Contender son, Continue. Balou du Rouet's maternal grandsire, Continue, collected lifetime earnings of over EUR 310,000. Numerous licensed stallions are descendents from the dam line.

Balou du Rouet is a favourite with the crowds at all of his appearances. He completed an excellent Stallion Performance Test and was awarded with the top marks of 9.5 and 10.0 for jumping by the 'foreign' judges. He was Oldenburg Silver Medallist 2005 and one of the best German horses in his age group. Balou du Rouet is the perfect sports type, equipped with maximum elasticity in the basic gaits and first-class jumping quality.
