Nobelman’s sire is the formidable Grand Prix Olympic stallion Glock’s Johnson TN. Johnson was awarded Preferent by the KWPN and he truly stamps and trademarks his offspring with the wonderful characteristics that he himself possesses. In 2018, Johnson is ranked #6 in the Rolex WBFSH Dressage Sire Rankings.
Johnson has been competing successfully at top level for several seasons and was outstanding as a young horse before embarking on his international career. Ridden by Hans Peter Minderhoud, Glock’s Johnson TN N.O.P. has risen to be one of world’s best combinations in dressage. He finished 9th for the Dutch at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, and was the Dutch star at the 2015 European Championships; spear-heading the gold-medal-winning team and taking home an individual bronze in the grand prix special. He was also on the Dutch team at the 2014 World Equestrian Games, never scoring below 74% and helping to secure the team bronze. Johnson was overall champion of the KWPN stallion show in 2005, top ranked in the stallion series 2006-07, and 6th in the World Young Horse Championships in Verden in 2007 as a five-year-old.
As a sire, Johnson seems to walk in the footsteps of his sire Jazz and grandsire Flemmingh. Jazz himself performed at Grand Prix level and for many years has been among world’s best dressage sires on the WBFSH Sire Ranking. Through offspring like Krack C and Lingh, also Flemmingh has left its mark on today’s breeding of dressage horses.
The offspring of Johnson make great impressions on all levels as well. Often more blood in type than their sire, they all inherit his fantastic, easy temperament and willingness. He is the sire of Bretton Woods (Matthias Alexander Rath), hailed as the “new Totilas” in Holland, Jack Jones, and more than 25 other licensed sons in a relatively limited breeding career. In autumn 2012 the Johnson x Wolkentanz II stallion Jack Sparrow was run-away favourite in the four-year-old stallion series. The approved stallion Meggle’s Boston (Hendrik Lochthowe) already performs at Grand Prix level and Boston STH (Denise Nekeman) are close to it. Johnson is carving a reputation as an outstanding sire.
Nobleman’s dam Godiva P is an Elite, IBOP (Dressage), PROK, D-OC KWPN mare by the top dressage sire Uphill.
Uphill’s career consists of many highlights such as: Dutch Reserve-Champion for the 4 year old dressage horses, finalist at the World Championships in Verden 2006, 3rd in the final of the PAVO cup in 2006, 3rd at the Dutch Championships in 2007, 1st place final Indoor Veendam, Dutch Champion of the ZZ-licht level in 2008 and in 2009 Uphill was the Dutch Champion at ZZ-Zwaar level and he won the Light Tour in Geldrop and the Prix St. George in Emmeloord with Emmelie Scholtens.
