The sire of Cabochon is Vincent. Vincent was Dutch Champion Grand-Prix dressage with Annemarie Sanders-Keizer in 1989. Gonnnie [Commandant x Ulex], the mother of Cabochon, brought also the famous Grand-Prix stallion Vanitas, sire of Facet.
Cabochon produced two licensed stallions; Kimberly and Talent, and sired numerous ‘Keur’ mares including our mare,
Zabina P [Cabochon x Flemmingh x Sultan x Nimmerdor]. He is one of the most undervalued KWPN sires, who has continuously been an improving force on the mareline. His most famous offspring to date is the black mare Pays Bas NL [Cabochon x Zeoliet] who was the 2002 Pavo Cup Reserve Champion and placed fifth at the World Young Horse Championships, and the Grand Prix horse Luzelma Slottie [Cabochon x Apollonius xx] who was sold to the U.S.
Among the numerous highlights in Cabochon's career was the presentation at the 2000 Stallion Show receiving the 'Keur' status in Den Bosch from the KWPN, and of course the unforgettable Cabochon -Train. His offspring shine not only in the dressage arena but also in the show ring, winning countless top prizes.
For more than 40 years the Pretendenthoeve has been producing top class dressage horses. As an accolade for his multitude of breeding successes, G.W van Norel was named by the Royal Dutch Sport Horse Society as "Breeder of the year " in 2004.
