Matterhorn’s parentage consists of four stallions acknowledged to have great significance in KWPN breeding. He shows good jumping style and scope which has made him successful in sport. He produces modern type foals with his pretty head.

His dam is the Keur UTV mare Elysette who also had a daughter that is jumping at the Z level. Elysette is the half-sister of the approved stallion Amethist, Champion Keur and UTV mare Firette, Colette (1.40m jumping) and Ivan (Z dressage). His grand-dam, Paerel, is Keur Preferent. His great grand-dam, Ykje, jumped at 1.30 level. She forms the base of this very strong line.

Matterhorn was Champion at the stallion selections in Den Bosch and jumped in the finals of the National Championship for 4 yr olds and placed in the finals at age 5 and 6. Matterhorn placed 4th in the Friesland Championship in Z level jumping, was Champion in the Stallion Competition in Cat. C and took 1st place in the Masters in Wanroy.

He possesses an exquisite exterior and presence, good gaits, and a lot of jumping talent. Matterhorn passes on his presence to his progeny who as foals consistently place high in the selections. His son, Take That, was purchased in 2004 by Eurocommerce for an amount of €200.000, at the Expo Talent Sale.
