Sire Baloubet du Rouet was not only Olympic Champion and won the World Cup Finals three times but his offspring also perform easily at the Grand Prix level. On Bubalu’s bottom line we find a superlative mare family. His dam is the Nimmerdor-daughter Zancara who carries the highest designations ‘Keur, Preferent and Prestatie’. In addition to Bubalu she foaled the approved stallion Great Pleasure, and the Grand Prix jumping approved stallions Pessoa and Montreal. Granddam, Shoraya, is also ‘Keur, Preferent and Prestatie’ being mother of Aldato (approved stallion and Grand Prix jumper), Dehlia ‘Keur’ (1.50m jumper and National Champion and herself dam of the Grand Prix jumper Quality Boy), Collete ‘Keur’ (dam of the Grand Prix of Leeuwarden winner Edminton) and Wildroos (‘Keur, Preferent and Prestatie’, National Champion and mother of the Grand Prix horses Deka and Ishan). This mare line is number 474A.

Bubalu jumped for years at the highest level with Jur Vrieling. Last year was his final international sport season with those results crowning his many achievements. With the Dutch squad Bubalu was World Champion in Normandy and Jur’s and Bubalu’s performance was decisive for the gold medal. In 2014 Bubalu also won the Furusiyya Nations Cup Final in Barcelona with the Dutch team, jumping two exhilarating clear rounds. Bubalu has many highlights in his career, such as team silver at the Olympic Games in London 2012 and becoming Dutch Champion in 2012. With the Dutch show jumping team he won the Nations Cup in Aken, Dublin and Sankt Gallen. Bubalu jumped 24 Nations Cups in his life with a total of 25 clear rounds. Individually he won the Grand Prix of Drammen and of Treffen. His first foals in the Netherlands made a splendid impression.

Daughter Huwerna was honored with the title of National Foal Champion in Ermelo in 2012, and Harteveld VDL placed 6th. Bubalu VDL sires modern and appealing foals with suppleness and a good canter. The first 3-year olds appear to jump very well. They show scope, carefulness and a great dedication to jump and work. His son Bengtsson VDL is approved by the NRPS.
